Argyll Barathea Jacket & 5-Button Vest
Occasion: Day/Business/Semi-Formal
The Argyll is a traditional one-button fastening kilt jacket, with gauntlet cuffs and scalloped pockets. It is the standard day wear kilt jacket and versatile for a variety of daytime and semi-formal occasions. This iconic jacket has been the gold standard in Highland wear since the nineteenth century.
This jacket can be worn with or without the five-button waistcoat, but is usually accompanied with a belt and buckle set when a waistcoat is not worn.
If wearing a necktie with this jacket, it should be a of a plain colour to complement the kilt. Tartan ties are generally worn by pipers and drummers.
Features: 100% 15oz Barathea Wool; thistle Jacquard lining; silk braided epaulettes; polished ‘Clann na Gael’ square buttons. They come in a variety of stock colours: black, bottle green and navy blue. Other colours available upon request.
Sizing: Our jackets are made in Scotland and are sized differently than in North America. We recommend that you come in to get measured, if possible, and we will order it for you. Jackets are available in S-Short, R-Regular, L-Long (tall) from 36 - 56.
